Our dad picked us up from our last day of school before winter vacation and we drove to a little Swiss town called Mürren. You cannot drive to Mürren, so we took the gondola up. That makes it really special because you walk everywhere and in winter you can ski on the roads!

On our first day of skiing we met up with our ski teacher Jana and skied for a long time. Jana is an incredible teacher and we learned fast. Xander was very excited about skiing, so he and my dad went out to ski more after lunch while I hung out with Bart’s kids.

In our first hour we were working on the bunny hills but by the end of the day we were able to do red, or intermediate, slopes.

After a long day of skiing we went back to the Eiger Hotel for a pool and sauna. Dad made us stay in the sauna for 20 sweaty minutes. For dinner we ate an interesting meal at the Eiger with Bart’s family.

The next day was very similar to the first. We woke up and skied with Jana and then with dad, Bart and Ben. We skied the entire side of one mountain and eventually got tired. We came back and had the most Swiss meal there is: Fondue. We ate until we were stuffed and eventually went home to get some sleep.
The next morning we played a pick-up hockey game on the ice rink in Mürren with Bart and his boys. It was fun.
Overall the trip to Murren was amazing. The Swiss go to the mountains for sunshine in the winter and we got lots of it. We learned how to ski in the course of three days all thanks to our ski instructor, Jana. The food was good, and it was very fun to hang out with Bart and his kids.
