Our Swiss weekends are full of adventures, good and bad.
Football
By Jacob
We went to a football/soccer game a week ago: FC Basel against the Young Boys/Bern. It was exciting! We were sitting next to the hooligans for the other side and they were loud and setting off fires. Football hooligans are the best.
Luging
By Xander

We also went to Germany to ride go carts down a mountain. It is called luging. You take a gondola up to the peak of the mountain and then wait in a very long line to get in a small go cart and go down the mountain. It was lots of fun. The first time we got stuck behind a slow old lady (not our mom) so we went for a second time. After going down again we went into town to get gelato. And on the way there and back we drove on the German autobahn with no speed limits.

Trottinettes
By Jacob

On my birthday, we road trottinettes down a mountain. Trottinettes are big scooters. It was a terrible experience. The road was rocky and steep. It was hard to brake. I ended up almost killing myself a couple times.

Jacob’s Birthday Party
By Xander

Jacob’s birthday was lots of fun. We started the day off with pastries from the local bakery and opening presents. After a few hours of chill-axing we met up with family friends and went up to a mountain where we ate lunch. My mom and I ordered Kaseschnitten, which is wine-soaked bread, melted cheese and egg.

Then we zoomed down the mountain on scooters and it was so much fun. After that we went home and played soccer at a park. We ate pizza, had cake and watched a comedy movie, Pixels. Overall Jacob’s birthday was a blast. I’m pretty glad he was born.

I’m glad he was born too, happy birthday Jakey! Sorry you hated the trotinettes. xo

Of course the ‘slow old lady’ was not your mom! As if.
Happy Birthday Jacob!
